Professor Bruce Jackson and Professor Diane Christian’s In This Timeless Time: Living and Dying on Death Row in America (University of North Carolina Press, 2012) explores life on Death Row in Texas and in other states, as well as the convoluted and arbitrary judicial processes that populate all Death Rows. The book documents the capriciousness of capital punishment and captures the day-to-day experiences of Death Row inmates in the official “nonperiod” between sentencing and execution.
