Accommodations

For regular registrants the conference hotel will be the Buffalo Hyatt Regency, where most of the conference panels will be held.  The address is 2 Fountain Plaza, Buffalo, NY 14202, and the phone number is (716) 856-1234. The conference has a block of rooms reserved at a special rate, for which conference registrants will be given a conference code.  The registration site will enter you at the conference rate automatically.  If you are registering by phone, the conference code is JAME.

For students, we have reserved a block of rooms at a student rate at the Buffalo State College.  That rate will be posted just as soon as final arrangements are made with the college.  Early indications are that room rates will be around $20 per night.  If that changes we will post it.  The option to stay there will be listed on the registration web site.  The college, at 1300 Elmwood Avenue , Buffalo, NY 14222, is not convenient walking distance from the Hyatt downtown, but an easy ride by bus or car, if you have one.  We will also arrange shuttle transportation to and from the Hyatt.

The Buffalo State dorms are not set up for on-line reservations.  Instead, e-mail Mark Shechner at dedalus449@netscape.net and he (I, actually) will put you on a list to be handed over to the Student Affairs Office there.  And I'll get back to you when I know exactly how this will operate.  It will be in early May, I imagine.  So, just e-mail me your name and university affiliation and I'll inform you when I know.  (MS)

However, the State College is most convenient for the sessions to be held on Monday, June 15, when the conference moves from the Hyatt hotel to the Burchfield-Penney Art Center and the Albright-Knox Art Gallery.  Those galleries are contiguous to the Buffalo State College campus.
